Tangled: The Series | Review

Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine, make the clock reverse and bring back what once was mine. And bring back they did, one of our favorite princesses! Rapunzel! I gotta say Rapunzel is my favorite modern princess along with Moana. Besides my Disney renaissance favorites Ariel and Belle.  Disney made me so happy by bringing back The fascinating world of Tangled. I was very excited to see Rapunzel, Eugene, Pascal, and Maximus again!

This article is going to be a thorough review of the television series and it's pros and cons. If you don't agree that's alright, it's just my opinion on the matter. No spoilers. Let's get started!

Premise
So Tangled: the series is about all the characters we know and love from tangled and their adventures. The show's timeline suggests this is before Eugene and Rapunzel get married. In Tangled we hear that Eugene proposed to Rapunzel, and then you see their wedding in the short "Tangled: Ever After". This is a small spoiler: in this, her blonde magic hair grows back and lots of the story revolves around finding out how that happens.

Pros:

The Humor

One thing I particularly enjoyed was that they stayed true to the humor they established in Tangled. Jokes were quick and witty. Of course, lots of the humor comes from Maximus and Eugene, with the sarcasm and their rivalry. However Rapunzel has a humor all of her own, however, it's more through her ignorance of how people are that is funny. She wants to please everyone. And the episode where that really shows was funny and very entertaining.

The Characters

Another thing I thought was well done was the characters. You get to know them all better! Which is what lots of us Disney fans wanted. In an episode, we find that Eugene can't keep secrets and I don't believe we knew that before. I just enjoyed how much more that we see their personalities.

Rapunzel

Rapunzel in this series is the same Rapunzel we know and love from the movie. She still is artsy, smart, funny, and spunky. However, we do learn new things about her. One thing is that she is a people pleaser, not everyone likes everyone and that's what she doesn't understand in one episode. Someone boos her while she is making a speech and she didn't know it meant they don't like her. So she spent most of the episode trying to earn their favor. But they kept her as same ol punzie and that's what matters.

Eugene

Eugene is the same man he was in Tangled. He's sarcastic, funny, charming, and romantic. In this he and Rapunzel go through normal relationship problems and work through them, and I love that. Healthy relationships aren't portrayed in shows and movies as much as it should. At least Disney has it right.

Sort of like Rapunzel you learn a lot about his personality is and more of who he is as a person. Which is great.

Cassandra

Cassandra is a new character introduced in the show. I believe she is Rapunzel's lady in waiting, bodyguard, or both...she seems to be both. She is a funny, spunky, snarky woman who takes care of Rapunzel. She's like a best friend. Cassandra throughout the show goes back and forward with Eugene with sarcasm. It's quite the funny exchange. I like her because her humor and also because she is a strong female who can take care of herself and I admire that. It gets tiring seeing damsel in distress all the time.

Haha, couldn't resist the chance for the Hercules reference.

The king and Queen

In the movie tangled, we don't see rapunzel's mom and dad much at all. We only see them for a couple minutes in the beginning and a couple minutes in the end. In this show, you get to know them a bit and their struggle to connect with their daughter who was stolen from and lost for 18 years. It's nice to see how that plays out and I'm grateful they put that in.

The Artwork

One of the things I liked the most was the art style of the show. It's very painterly and looks a lot like Rapunzel painted it herself. And I love it it's very pleasing on the eyes. I also love how highly rendered it is. There isn't pixelation or rough edges. As a graphic designer, I really love cartoons like that.

Cons:

They start the story too confusing too fast. Let me explain. It begins in a dream sequence where Rapunzel is with mother gothel and her hair is long and blonde again. They don't tell you what happens until near the end of the first episode. unless I missed it in the beginning. I would've preferred they show us how her hair is back the first scene. unless they are doing that to keep us watching to find out more in depth. We shall see there were only two or three episodes out.

Conclusion:

I thoroughly am enjoying this show and cannot wait for more. I hope the story becomes more understandable and interesting as it goes on air. Tell me what you guys think in the comments! Did you like it? Didn't like it? Or have you not seen it yet?

Thanks for reading, see ya later.

Beauty and The Beast | Review

Tale as old as Time, Tune as old as song, Beauty, and the Beast was an amazing visually, musically, and in the story. This fan favorite has been long awaiting this live action remake for a while. Also, People have been trying to get Disney to cast the beautiful Emma Watson as Belle, and they were right. She was the perfect casting choice for Belle. So was Dan Stevens (Beast), Luke Evans (gaston), Josh Gad (LeFou), etc.  Warning: minor spoilers ahead! The Music:                                  Oh my goodness, the music! All the original songs are included in this live-action remake and more! more you ask? Well, they popped in a couple original songs to the plate and they are fantastic. In my opinion, some songs were sung better than the cartoon. I had no idea that Luke Evans could sing or ...

Princess Tiana: A Tribute

Hello again Disney lovers! Today I have posted a bunch about Princess and the frog. And as I looked at all this Princess and the frog content I realized something. Princess Tiana is way  underrated!  Why do I say this? Because whenever you ask a girl or a boy who their favorite princess is,  they generally answer with Ariel or Elsa. They generally answer with what's popular; like frozen.  Don't get me wrong my favorite princess is Ariel but mostly because of the mermaid parts. As a child I had always loved the sea.  Tiana has so much more to her than people realize, and this article  is gonna tell you why.                                                   1. She works hard and is very driven.               ...

Rock The Dots: 10 Things We Love About Minnie

This week on the 22nd was Rock The Dots With Minnie Mouse! Since I missed it I thought I should write a little tribute to that beautiful polka dot loving mouse. Here are the 10 things us at Disney lovers love about Minnie Mouse. 1. Her great sense of fashion Have you seen those dots! And her bows! Minnie always knows what to do in a fashion crisis. Have you seen Minnie's bow-tique? The little shorts that happen after Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? Well they are funny little shorts about Minnie and Daisy and they're fun adventures managing the boutique. She has so many fun bows on stock that I seriously want to wear them. I mean Who wouldn't? I bet she even has some fun bow ties for men. I think Disney should bring her boutique into the parks so we can buy custom Disney bows and bowties. 2. Her happy personality Have you ever seen Minnie mouse sad? Of course not, well at least not always. She's rarely ever grumpy. Even in times of crisis Minnie mouse always comes t...
