Star Wars the last Jedi theories
In a galaxy far far away not too long ago we have received the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. As a Star Wars fan, I wanted to express my reactions and theories for this next movie. First, I'm going to have to explain a few theories first to start off with.
The question that every Star Wars fan has been asking. Who is Rey's father? The obvious answer would be Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. For a long time, I was hoping that it would be Obi-Wan Kenobi's granddaughter. However, Obi-wan's granddaughter sounds a little far-fetched. The extremely obvious one would be Luke because Ray is a mechanic, powerful in the force, and a pilot. She does look a bit like Padme or Anakin's mother. The real question is if Rey is Luke's daughter why did Han and Leia not recognize her? Good question. I have Some good guesses.
First, there is the theory that Rey was in isolation with Luke. And Luke had his own Jedi academy training Kylo, Rey, and some other children. When Kylo revolted against Luke and the others he decided not to kill Rey because they are technically cousins. she was probably really young at the time. So after he burned down Luke's Jedi temple he convinced Luke his daughter was dead but he really took Rey to jakku. where no one would dare look for her. And later in the force awakens movie, Rey escapes jakku and joins the alliance and ultimately finds her father which explained the shocked look on his face in the end of force awakens.
The second theory is that Luke didn't know he had a daughter. He could've had a lover and she gave birth to Rey on jakku then maybe the mom died and they took her away in the ship we see in Rey's vision.
The third theory is, that she has no important father or mother, but is the reincarnated Anakin skywalker. What? That sounds ridiculous! Well, no not really. It could be the force giving him a second chance. Or it could be that he figured out how to manipulate medichlorians. Palpatine says to Anakin in revenge of the sith "so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life," and even save others from dying. "He became so powerful, the only thing that he was afraid of was losing his power." He could've found out how to bring himself back, not in his previous body but in a new one he created. Why does this make sense? Because her visions included something that looked like Vader's memories mixed with hers. One of the first scenes you see in her vision is the hallway of cloud city where Luke lost his arm to Vader. It's probably the one least likely, but it's a thought.
Alright, the moment you've been waiting for her here. The trailer for the last Jedi.
My reaction/ Theory
So The first scene that the trailer cuts to is of Ray pounding the ground and out of breath. My Theory is that this was after another set of force visions. I think this is the case because Ray is very much afraid of these visions.
However, it could also be she was just in a fight. But, I think this is unlikely because Luke wouldn't just attack someone. Unless he thought that she was part of the first order or something.
The next scene is of Luke telling Ray to breathe just breathe. It shows the ocean and The island that Luke lives in isolation. I think this means that Luke is going to be training Ray. Either that or he's helping her calm down from the vision she had. The next clip shows Ray using the force on the ground and a bunch of rocks are flying; as Luke says "reach out".
The next scene has Leah sitting at a hologram console as Ray says in reply to Luke light. This definitely means that Luke is going to train Ray in the force. But in the next scene, we see Darth Vader's mask all broken up and on the floor with glass around it as Rey says darkness. This means that Kylo Ren had another one of his famous temper tantrums. He probably found out that they found Luke.
The next scene is of books on a shelf or a table with egg brown glove touching the table as Rey says balance. I think the brown gloves are from Luke because I don't think we've ever seen Ray wear gloves, we have seen Luke wear gloves because he has a robotic arm. He probably is hiding his arm/hand since in raise vision in force awakens we see that Luke has lost the skin on his robot arm. He probably is just wearing a glove to protect his hand. Either that or Rey decides to wear gloves, maybe it's colder there. She has lived in a desert her whole life.
Then the next scene is a far shot of Ray with the light saver on a rock with Luke standing beside her as Luke says to her they're so much more. This definitely confirms that he is going to be training her in the force. And what I think he means by there so much more is that on Luke's journey to find Jedi artifacts he found his new doctrines of the Jedi that has not been implemented into Jedi training. So he may just be teaching her the new things that he has learned about the Jedi. He probably has learned that some of their teachings is wrong so he's trying to teach her the proper way of the Jedi.
Then the trailer proceeds to cut two different scenes at first cuts to a bunch of ships on a white tundra like planet spewing read smoke. Then it cuts to fin in a hibernation chamber or some kind of medical chamber kind of like a bath a tank. About the tank is the healing tank that we saw in the original Star Wars episodes. This may be a updated version of that. So now we know that Finn is alive, but he's healing. Then it cuts to Po running with BB-8 and then his X-Wing explodes.
I think this is retaliation for Kylo Ren finding out about the last piece of the map to find Luke has been discovered. The next scene is of the millennium falcon flying through the sky being shot at the end of Ray running and then of Kylo Ren pointing his lightsaber menacingly. I think this means that Kylo Ren has found her somehow and is trying to kill Luke Skywalker.
Then we hear Kylo say "I only know one truth" then it cuts to Luke and R2-D2 standing in front of a building on fire. I think this means we're going to find out what happened between Luke and Kylo Ren. I think Kylo Ren set fire to Luke's Jedi Temple. Or something along those lines have happened. Then there's a scene of captain Phasma and her storm troopers walking through fire. Next, a bunch of rebel ships being shot at. I think this means that the rebles go and try and protect Luke and Ray from the first-order. Then it shows Luke in the cave as he says "it's time for the Jedi to end." In darkness.
I think what he means by this is Luke told us that he was looking for Jedi artifacts to learn more about the Jedi order.the incorrect Jedi order that has been around for years has been wrong by his findings of his artifacts so perhaps he wants to create a new order of Jedi but by the correct teachings. Because in the past the Jade I have been robotic and not allowed to love or have any sort of a motion lest you become a sith.
Because those books we saw earlier could have been the only teachings of the Jedi order and they could've been completely opposite of what Yoda told him. So he probably just wants to create a new Jedi order. Or he just wants the Jedi to end. And he becomes a villain but that's not who Luke is so it's most likely something along the lines of my first theory.
then it cuts to the title of the movie and then it will be out by Christmas. So those were my reactions to the trailer, I hope that my theories are right because that would be a super compelling story. If that is not the case then I hope something more interesting is about. So those were my initial reactions to Star Wars: the last Jedi. I am so incredibly excited for this movie. I'm going to watch it close to release and review it.
